TriMadness’ March Madness – Sweet Sixteen!

Just like the NCAA Basketball tournament, the TriMadness March Madness tournament had lots of great first-round action!  There were a few first round blow-outs, a few really close contests, and a pretty big upset!

There were a pair of 10-1 blow-outs in the first round:  Rev3 Maine destroyed Challenge Roth in the Race Medal Region and Heart Rate Monitor totally outbeat Powermeter 10-1 in the Tools of the Trade Region.  The Tools of the Trade Region also included two of the closest first round matchups.  Foam Roller and Treadmill eaked out 6-5 victories over Pull Bouy and Flippers/Fins, respectively.  The biggest upset of the first round was in the Professional Triathlete Region, where Leanda Cave pulled a one point come-from-behind victory over Linsey Corbin.

There are some pretty intriguing Sweet Sixteen matchups…especially in the Race Medal Region, where the Rev3 conference has three teams that advanced.  In fact, we’re guaranteed of at least one member of the Rev3 conference will be in the final eight, with a chance to go to the tournament Final Four!

A reminder about how TriMadness’ March Madness contest works.  We’re picking winners of each of the matchups by poll voting for a select period of time.  Once we reach the Final Four and Championship rounds, people who are looking to enter the contest to win an AWESOME prize pack from SBR Sports (makers of Tri-Swim Anti Chlorine Products, Foggle Anti-Fog wipes, and Tri-Slide) and Powerbar – with a total retail value of close to $200.00 – will need to leave a comment with their pick for the TriMadness March Madness National Champion.  The contest winner will be chosen randomly from all entries with the correct pick for National Champion.

But…before we get there, we need to continue on with the Sweet 16 round.  Below are the eight fantastic match-ups where the winners will advance to the regional semi-finals later this week.  All you have to do at this point is VOTE for your favorite!  Voting for the Sweet Sixteen round will be open until 12noon EST on Wednesday, March 27th!

  1. Triathlons are a lot of fun! Good for you. You know, we create content for triathletes like yourself. Check out our page for more articles on training and being the best triathlete you can be.

  2. LOL – saw this on your Twitter and assumed it was re: basketball and didn’t go check it out in the earlier rounds. Too funny! Voted and will look forward to seeing who “advances”. Way more interesting than basketball (especially when my alma mater was trounced in the 1st round).
