>Tri Madness Goes to Washington

>For the last week or so, Tri Madness & family have been vacationing in Washington, DC.  So many stories to tell!!!  I’ll spare you many of the boring details of a family vacation, but suffice it to say that if you haven’t been to DC, you really should.  The monuments and memorials are amazing!  The sense of history is overpowering.  We had a great time.

Plus, Washington is really athlete-friendly!  We saw more runners and cyclists (though some were clearly commuters) than I ever expected.  That said, DC is much hillier than JAX! 🙂

Here are some of the pictures

Graves at Arlington National Cemetary

Washington Monument, reflecting pool, and Capital from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial

Lincoln Memorial from the World War II Memorial – keep in mind that it’s at least 1/4 mile from the WWII Memorial to Lincoln Memorial…

Guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns

Looking down on the WWII Memorial, reflecting pool & Lincoln Memorial from the top of the Washington Monument

The White House

Jefferson Memorial from top of the Washington Monument

Soldiers at the Korean War Memorial

Thanks for reading!
